Update

I heard back from D.A. today. Once again, I'm a little overwhelmed. (g) He says it's improved, but he wants me to push myself more... so, back to the drawing board I go. (Hi ho, Hi ho)

At this point, I feel like everything is laid out on the table -- it's now up to me to decide whether I want to go there -- whether or not it's the right direction for my book and characters. I have a lot of thinking to do. :)

Please send all chocolate and ice cream my way. Thanks!

I'm sure it's been a rollercoaster ride. Yikes! Sending you virtual chocolate to fortify as well as these inspiring words:

From Write Till You Drop
By Annie Dillard

One of the few things I know about writing is this: spend it all, shoot it, play it, lose it, all, right away, every time. Do not hoard what seems good for a later place in the book, or for another book; give it, give it all, give it now. The impulse to save something good for a better place later is the signal to spend it now. Something more will arise for later, something better. These things fill from behind, from beneath, like well water.

Susan,

Thanks. I may need to do that. My theme for the night is, "What do I do?!?" lol.

Oh well. I'll just keep moving forward and see if we can come to an agreement. The ideas are already swirlin' around in my noggin. Conflict, conflict, conflict. And then more conflict...

Helene,

Cool quote -- thanks. :) Yes, I will try to give it all I've got. No holds barred this time. (g) Of course, I thought that was what I did last time. LOL. Oh well, gotta keep moving forward...push push push it further.

Whoever this agent is, he must be very interested in your work to be devoting this much time to bringing out your full potential. And I love the advice that Helene posted. It's something I need to remember, too.

Beth,

Oh yes, I'm trying to remember that and save some of my hair. :)

Helene's quote is awesome, I agree. :) I should tape that above my computer.
