Jennifer Hendren
I'm a writer. I'm currently writing in two genres: Young Adult -- I've published the first in a paranormal series, titled BY THE PALE MOONLIGHT, and am currently working on its sequel, WALKING IN SHADOW. Can we say werewolves? :) And adult suspense/mystery, the first in the series called FAKING IT. This deals with an undercover drug investigator and the trouble she's constantly getting herself into. For a brief synopsis of each, please see below.

FAKING IT

Madison Krauss isn’t your average professional. She cusses like a sailor, drinks like a fish, and has a penchant for poker. All of this doesn’t exactly warrant a nomination for Employee of the Year, but it does make her one of the best undercover narcotics investigators her company has seen since Vinnie the Fink back in ’99.

On assignment in a manufacturing plant, Madison sets her sights on a heroin dealer suspected of causing several deaths. She was prepared for anything but his sexy right-hand man, Gabriel Marquette. It’s tough to bust the bad guy when she keeps picturing his friend naked. Accustomed to living a dual life, Madison finds herself overwhelmed with all of the additional lies she’s forced to tell him and her equally hot boss. It’s only a matter of time before everything crashes in on her.

As things come to a head with the kingpin, Madison discovers Gabe is keeping secrets of his own – secrets that leave her wondering if her narrow focus on one suspect has allowed another to creep through the backdoor…and into her heart.

From rolling fatties with potheads to fake snorting lines of cocaine off bathroom counters, FAKING IT is a suspense/mystery told with a humorous voice.

BY THE PALE MOONLIGHT

Makenna Wilhelm knows all of her friends have their quirks, but when Ty shows up naked in her yard one morning, she finds it beyond weird. Stranger still are the deep gashes across Ty’s chest and his sudden ability to hear and smell things that no human should.

When her boyfriend tries to take advantage of her during a moonlit night, Ty’s secret is revealed when he comes to her rescue. He’s no longer the boy she’s crushed on forever, but rather a werewolf with one serious aversion for all things silver. Makenna is left wondering if he’s to blame for the recent death of one of their classmates, the apparent victim of an animal attack.

With the help of Melanie, the dead girl’s friend, they manage to prove Ty’s innocence, only to discover Makenna was the intended prey. Even worse, she’s still a target. In a race against the full moon, the trio struggles to find who murdered the young woman. However, without a way to cure Ty, they have no way of knowing who poses the greater threat: Ty or the unknown enemy.

BY THE PALE MOONLIGHT is an edgy young adult novel and the first in a series.

Opening to MEET THE GREY'S

I would’ve smacked myself for getting caught like this, but being as I didn’t have a body, I had to settle with calling myself an idiot instead. In fact, I let myself have it, safe in the knowledge if anyone happened by they’d hear nothing more than a mere whisper on the wind.

I think I channeled my mom for a few minutes. Boy was she mad.
